Hollywood Feminist of the Day: Juliet Stevenson

Stevenson just starred in the recent BBC drama Dustbin Baby by Jacqueline Wilson popular author of 90 books for teens.  She plays foster mother to Dakota Blue Richards (the girl from The Golden Compass).  Wonder when we will see the show here?  I am also waiting to see her in the crime drama A Place of Execution based on the book by Val McDermid.

Here’s a comment from a recent piece in the Telegraph

She admits deep frustration that ‘once you are past 40 the only roles you get offered are as mothers or wives. Just because you have children you don’t stop having a life outside that frame.’
