Cherien&#039;s story is very inspiring and her film sounds very special.  I find myself rooting for Amreeka to be sold quickly, so it can get to the theaters for all of us to enjoy very soon.

My favorite quote: 

CD: I want them to really fall in love with the characters.  It’s a glimpse into a world they might not have otherwise seen.  I want them to walk away knowing that the culture is beautiful and should be appreciated and that stereotypes are unnecessary.  I want them to walk away with a feeling of love and hope that they have just met people they have really liked.


That quote spoke to me &amp; made me smile, because that has always been one of my favorite parts about going to the movies -- falling in love with characters, glimpsing new worlds and meeting people who I really like (and some who I don&#039;t....but who are very interesting, nonetheless!).

Cherien Dabis sounds like a great storyteller, I can&#039;t wait to see her story.</description>
