Megan Fox seems to have stirred about a big pile of poo by talking to a magazine about Michael Bay and his dictatorial tactics on the set of Transformers. Setting aside her talent — or lack thereof – (she was so bad in the first Transformers but I don’t blame her since I know the part was written for her to just look like a sexpot, and she is really bad in Jennifer’s Body) she has guts to call a spade a spade.
Here’s part of the quote of what she said to a magazine:
He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward.
That’s not so bad to me. But then some idiot anonymous crew members (and yes you are idiots) decided they had to to defend Michael Bay from Megan and escalated the rhetoric by calling her “dumb as a rock” on Bay’s site.
Yes, Megan has great eyes, a tight stomach we spray with glycerin, and an awful silly Marilyn Monroe tattoo plastered on her arm that we cover up to keep the moms happy.
AND
So this is the Megan Fox you don’t get to see. Maybe she will learn, but we figure if she can sling insults, then she can take them too. Megan really is a thankless, classless, graceless, and shall we say unfriendly bitch. It’s sad how fame can twist people, and even sadder that young girls look up to her. If only they knew who they’re really looking up to.
But ‘fame’ is fleeting. We, being behind the scenes, seen em’ come and go. Hopefully Michael will have Megatron squish her character in the first ten minutes of Transformers 3. We can tell you that will make the crew happy.
Bay removed the letter from his site and then added this:
I don’t condone the crew letter to Megan. And I don’t condone Megan’s outlandish quotes. But her crazy quips are part of her crazy charm. The fact of the matter I still love working with her, and I know we still get along. I even expect more crazy quotes from her on Transformers 3.
Another crew member has stood up and used his name to defend her from the crew rant
Contrary to popular belief, she is like us (human) and has both good and bad days as well. Working on the Transformers movies can be intense at times and sometimes intense situations cause intense moments.
So now Fox has been chastened and released the following statement: “I am very fortunate to be involved in this amazing franchise and look forward to Transformers 3.”
So why do I care about this. It’s Megan’s job to do press. It’s part of her job to create interest in the film to keep people coming back for more and more. It’s not the job of anonymous crew members to defend their star director who is known in Hollywood for being a sexist. To me, Megan and Michael Bay seem to have developed some sort of sick back and forth about the film. He discovered her so probably feels she should be like most women pretty and silent. But she’s not, and clearly she’s not as dumb as a rock which you can tell from earlier statements she has made about the film business.
This is about getting Megan to shut up. This is about getting women to shut up. It’s about using sexist insults like being pretty and dumb to shut up a woman with opinions. Not cool. But I guess all the press this week will help drive up the grosses of Jennifer’s Body which opens on Friday.

oh those “crazy” women, all uppity and shit.
Michael Bey- ew
This actress- she is no Jolie, but, she’d like to be. I hope she develops her own style, her own star power. She shouldn’t have to be “crazy” and uppity to get publicity, but, apparently she does.
I haven’t seen any of the transformers films, but, I can imagine it’s a pretty sexist set going by the clips I’ve seen.
Crews who are predominantly male are so passe. Really, who gives a shit what they h=ave to say about a woman?
I hope she makes enough money to not have to deal with Bey and I hope she’ll make at least one great film choice in her career.
In the meantime, a lot of her power is in her physicality and she knows it. “Workin it” (snap)
Thank you for writing this. This whole anti-Megan Fox hate tirade from the press (and from many bloggers and ordinary people) is bothering me so much. She’s beautiful so people want to hate on her. She’s talked a lot about her sexuality so she’s a “slut.” She’s made jokes about an A-list (debatable) male filmmaker, so people hate on her because she will NOT sit down, look pretty and be silent.
Fox haters, shut the F up and get a life. I hear that she is getting many more roles, so I hope that’ll expand her acting scope.
and the comment that she’s better off making porn… WTF, so nasty, sexist, degrading, humiliating, filthy, and rude. Those crew members who wrote the rant, obviously watch too much porn and probably have never watched any respectable films with strong female leads. F—ing losers.
I’m so glad you wrote this. (I’m just so relieved and grateful I don’t have anything to expand on. Just. Thank. You.)
I don’t have an opinion on Fox since I’ve never seen her in anything, because so far she’s starred in movies that don’t interest me at all. She seems to be suffering from the usual backlash that comes when an actress is hyped up, getting on all the hottest lists, etc. and then starts to say the “wrong” things.
I’m sad to hear that she’s so bad in Jennifer’s Body, because I was looking forward to that movie.
So is Megan Fox the new feminist hero? Not that she asked to be or is supposed to be but people are acting like she is?
The woman is playing by the rules the patriarchy laid out for her, but since she let’s people know that is exactly what she doing then it is fine. Funny that Jenna Jamesen does not get this type of love from feminists.
Megan likes to tell people she is confident in herself and her sexuality, and I don’t buy it. If she was truly confident in herself why would she have to create this persona? When one is truly confident with themselves they do not have play into others fantasies.
It is no coincidence that Marilyn Monroe is her idol.
Bettypoo, she is an actress, not a monk, nun, priestess, leader, teacher, journalist, et.
As an actress, it’s her job to play a fantasy. As a Brand, it’s her job to make the hype she is making right now.
not all actresses choose to go the Brand way, but, this one has. She is using the Jolie business model. Jolie took her beauty and the hype, along with incredible talent & intelligence, and is doing great things with it. Will Fox? I doubt it, but I also hope she’ll surprise people.
In any case, it’s just business.
At Deadline Hollywood Daily there’s a bunch of posters that feel the backlash letter posted by 3 crew members was actually written by Bay, himself. And I agree with Thomai.
Thomai that’s fine, but why is everyone here especially feminists acting like what she is doing is some type of revolutionary move. So what she is speaking her mind, half of it is sex talk directed at men. Plenty of actress speak their mind (and have more interesting things to say), but since none of it has to do with sex it doesn’t get a much coverage as Megan.
I just hate it that anytime someone (especially a woman) criticizes something she says we are automatically deemed “haters” and jealous, as if we cannot have any original thoughts and ideas except to agree with what the patriarchy has approved, and don’t be fooled, Megan is definitely Patriarchy approved.
I think that by “hating” on her, you’re feeding into her PR machine. Megan Fox is a fabrication of the media and the expert manipulations of her team. The more attention we give her, the more the PR machine will roll.
Can we not just move on and talk about something else?
lol, BettyPoo is being defensive… mmmm yeah it sounds like she’s jealous of Megan Fox. Stop hating and get over it.
You know who else I’m jealous of Paris Hilton. That girl is fierce. Not only is she sexy, beautiful and confident she has the balls to say things other women won’t. Oh, and Sarah Palin now that is one women who really has cunt power, everybody just hates on her cause they’re insecure.
Just to be clear I have no problem with Fox. She knows the best way to get her name out there is to play the sex symbol, and she likes the attention she gets, but she is frustrated by it because she knows people are only interested in her because of her looks, so she says outlandish things so people will focus away from that.
It just seems people are trying to turn Fox into a feminist martyr, out of frustration with the sexist film industry. I don’t believe she has true confidence in herself, but from the approval men give her from her looks and that frustrates her as well. It is Fox who said she would probably be washed up by the time she is 33 because Hollywood doesn’t care for women over 30. Now does that should like someone who has confidence in her talent to survive the industry? Is she fighting against the system or is buying into it.
She wants people to know that the industry is puts beautiful women on a pedestal and then knocks them down, but doing so in a string bikini for GQ magazine is not the best way to go about doing so, because you are only living what you speak out against.
Oh and Deaf, Megan called she wants you out of her ass.
Deaf Indian, we are no longer in the 5th grade and have to bolster arguments by playing the old ‘ur just jelous’ card. We all should be better than that, don’t you think? I don’t know if Megan is a good actress, since I haven’t seen her in anything but I have watched/read some of her interviews and I don’t see her waving the feminist flag, at all. IMO she is barely better than those misogynistic crew members who tried to take her down. More times than not she uses the lowest common denominator to sell herself- sex. I keep reading and watching hoping she has something of value to say and she always disappoints. I give her a slight pass because of her age but it boggles my mind how some see her as a junior champion for the feminist movement.
Bettypoo,
I think you’re dismissing the people who agree with you, the people who have a different opinion and giving more importance to the opinion you most disagree with and seem to resent.
Female Entertainers have used this business model (working the male gaze: sex, shock & surprise)and gone on to great things or to their own demise or for purely their selfish gains.
Madonna, Jolie, Marilyn Monroe, JLo (remember the dress?).
They can’t all be the great Bette Davis.

Funny that you mention Bette Davis. From a quote I can’t remember clearly I got the impression that she seemed to be smug about not being a “pretty” actress (she was actually considered ugly- undoubtedly, her smugness stemmed from the fact that sooner or later the pretty girls wouldn’t have a career worth talking about anymore whereas she could always rely on her skills)- because if you’re a woman selling yourself on your looks alone getting older pretty much means your career is over. Therefore you absolutely must have talents that surpass your looks- like Jolie and Madonna. If you only have your looks to sell you can only lose because no one will end up taking you seriously (Think Monroe who is only valued then and now as a sex symbol and nothing else.).
Concerning Megan Fox, I feel conflicted: she obviously and consciously chose to sell herself as a sex symbol and not as an actress, something to decorate your movie with and not take seriously- quotes by her seem to prove as much (although I am pretty sure she did not anticipate the vitriol directed at her). Frankly speaking, I think her “business strategy” is a kick in the teeth for many a hard-working actress (although I think established actresses will rather pity her). On the other hand, this is pretty much one of the only ways to succeed in Hollywood as a woman- or so it seems- and what was she supposed to do about that? So like many before her she chose the easy way out (and idealists will hate her for that), especially if it’s true that she’s so bad at acting. Truth be told, I kind of hope that she develops some talents otherwise she will probably leave the business with the impression that she’s a piece of meat you dangle over the fanboys’ heads.
I doubt actresses, who get naked for films, have sex in films, etc. aren’t as bothered (or certainly can’t come from a moral high ground) by her choices.
Madonna’s greatest talent is MARKETING and surrounding herself with the most gifted choreographers, dancers, back up singers, musicians, writers, editors, etc.
Her singing and dancing, without her marketing (controversy) and the surrounding talent, is CRAP. She wouldn’t have made it thru the audition of American Idol or SYTYCD. No way.
Jolie has talent, but, that is not what opened the door for her.
Bette Davis stood up for herself and changed the studio system. She was a feminist activist, though not defined as such by self or public.
