So another female blogger’s story is coming to the big screen. The good thing is, this time she won’t have to share her screen time with Meryl Streep. Ree Drummond of the majorly popular blog and brand (she sells cookbooks!) The Pioneer Woman will have her life portrayed on the big screen by none other than Reese Witherspoon.
According to Deadline.com, Columbia Pictures which released Julie & Julia to a $94 million domestic box office (on a $40 million budget) has optioned the rights the Ree’s life and Laura Ziskin and Pam Williams will produce.
I have to say Drummond’s life seems perfect for the big screen. A city woman meets a cowboy, falls in love moves to the cattle ranch, has a bunch of kids, home schools the kids, starts and blog, writes a cookbook…you get the picture.
Sounds like it could be a hit. Of course we need to see who is going to write the script and who will direct.

Okay – so this is the 3rd R Witherspoon attachment i heard about – the other two were a Jane Campion film and an adaptation of an early Jane Austen short novel – Austen again! – by the young writer of the stage play “Enron”. So which is it?
