I got this info from folks at the Girl Scouts which looks like it was instrumental in creating this bi-partisan taskforce to look at issues in media that effect girls.
US Reps Tammy Baldwin and Shelly Moore Capito introduced legislation that would:
support media literacy programs, promote research on the effects of media images, and encourage the adoption of voluntary guidelines to promote healthier media images for young people.
Looks like Girl Scouts is starting to get more into advocacy work which is great. They are going to lobby other Congresspeople to support the legislation.
The Healthy Media for Youth Act is a part of wider effort by Girl Scouts at the federal, state, and local level known as Live Healthy, Lead Healthy, which seeks to engage policymakers and community leaders around key health and well-being issues affecting girls.
Go Girl Scouts!

I guess somebody at the Girl Scouts saw Bride Wars. Even the Girl Scouts can’t stand it anymore.
