The love just grows and grows. Here’s a quote from a piece in this weekend’s Daily Mail.
The first quote refers to a report that she got very angry that the filmmakers told her Brideshead Revisted co-star Hayley Atwell to lose weight. BTW Hayley Atwell has just been cast in Captain America. I hope she doesn’t get too skinny for that film.
I am a bit of a fundamentalist about all that size zero stuff – I would have made a big, fat fuss. That was no joke. I would have walked off the set.’
Here’s Emma’s advice to actresses and others.
Put on weight and say F*** off,’ she retorts. ‘Demand bigger sizes. Go into places where you can’t get a 38D bra and say, “I want a 38D bra and give me one. If you can’t, I am never coming here again.

Good for her! Frankly, I prefer to work with actresses that eat, so they’re not so starved they can’t concentrate on their role. Plus they look better. Who came up with this size zero law anyway?
It’s great to here someone speaking out like this. I love Emma Thompson too! Saw “Last Chance Harvey” a few weeks ago and would definitely recommend it if you haven’t seen it yet. That reminds me – I must rewatch Sense and Sensibility sometime soon :)
