Twilight Eclipse Arrives in Five Days

It’s beginning.

I’m glad the din about this one has been a bit muted (at least in my world).

But that’s now over.

Several thousand people from across the country camped out for days in order to get a spot on the red carpet for last night’s premiere. 550 of them got lucky enough to mingle with the stars on their way into the theatre.

Kristen Stewart has had to be very careful in the last week since she stepped in a pile of poo when comparing the crazy paparazzi photos of her to being raped.  She later apologized.

However, the next couple of days will be all about Eclipse.  I’m seeing it on Monday night.

The success of Twilight has residual effects for all the Twilight team.  Film writer Melissa Rosenberg has started her own production company Tall Girls Productions to help train young writers, especially young women writers.

Here’s what she said in a recent interview:

Rosenberg: It’s called Tall Girls Productions. I want to bring up some young writers and work with some of my contemporaries, with a bias toward young female writers. The charter of it, if there is one, would be to create some strong roles for women. I’m not talking the sort of ghetto that we’ve been in of the romantic drama or the fluffy romantic comedy of which there have been so few good ones. I’m talking about some kick-ass flawed women. Comic book heroes. The female Batman, the female Tony Soprano. It will require a lot of work on my part, but I know it’s what I want to do. I’m hoping to parlay whatever this bizarre success is into something that’s going to last for a while.

Rosenberg is now working on the adaptation of Breaking Dawn which will be made into two movies with at least one directed by Bill Condon.  The start pre-production next week and the film should be out around Thanksgiving 2011.

The film appears on the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly with dueling covers.

Since this film is supposed to be the best one so far and one that has a lot fo action to attract the guys, I wondering if it will be the gross for New Moon. We will soon find out.
