Sexism Watch: ABC New Pilot Title

According to EW, ABC is about to pick up a new series entitled Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23.

When Cougar Town acquired its unfortunate title it reflected the premise of the show, but this is just so much worse.

Here’s the premise: The story is about a naive young woman who comes to New York City and ends up with a trouble-making party-girl roommate.

And to top it off a woman — Nahnatchka Khan — is one of the creator/writers.

Not cool.

Agreed. Not cool. Also the show title S*** My Dad Says was different – just using a bad word. Big deal. But here they are using a sexist epithet to refer to an individual. That’s ugly. And putting it on mainstream media makes it seem acceptable.

Cougar Town got a horrible name, but it’s been full of funny, interesting, well-written female characters from the beginning. This, though? It sounds like a horrible name for a horrible show filled with two-dimensional female characters. Ugh.

Everything’s in the name and this is just a very bad title. Whoever thought that up should be sacked. I predict near-instant cancellation.

I wont watch Cougar Town because I simply wont get past the title.
The title of the show you mention sounds even worse.

I’ll admit I almost didn’t watch “the Good Wife” due to it’s title. Glad I did though as it’s one of the best shows on TV.
