Jane Campion to Receive Carrosse d’Or

nullAt next month’s Cannes Film Festival, Jane Campion will receive the Carrosse d’Or.

Campion is serving as president of the Cinefondation and the short film jury at the festival. She’s the only woman to have ever won the Palme d’Or for The Piano.

The Carrosse d’Or is given for innovation and boldness in directing and production. The only woman to win the award since 2002 was French director, Agnes Varda in 2010. Campion will receive the award during the opening ceremony of the 45th Directors’ Fortnight.

Campion’s terrific mini-series Top of the Lake is currently airing in the US on the Sundance Channel.
