Jessica Chastain, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon Being Considered for ‘Rodham’

nullAs expected some of the most talented women in Hollywood are being considered to play Hillary Clinton in the upcoming Rodham. Jessica Chastain, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and Amanda Seyfried are all being looked at for the role.

After a read of the script, we may have had some problems with its depictions of feminism, but there’s no denying that playing Hillary Clinton is a great opportunity for any of these actresses. Clinton is a role model for women–intelligent, witty and driven–all qualities that director James Ponsoldt is looking for while casting.

Regardless of people’s political affiliation or how they feel about Hillary Clinton, you don’t find people who question the quality of her intelligence or her drive. I want a wonderful actress who could embody that

Rodham looks at the young life of Clinton, in 1974, while she was working as a lawyer in Washington D.C. It’s set to hit theaters in 2016, around the time of the next Presidential election, where Clinton could very likely be a candidate.
