Hollywood is giving out a lot of awards this weekend but it’s also really important to keep a bigger picture in mind. While we fight for women’s rights and visibility in Hollywood, other rights we take for granted are being removed.
Yesterday, there was a rally in NYC to support Planned Parenthood and the services they provide that are threatened by the current Congress. Lots of people in the creative businesses (including filmmakers) don’t have health insurance and use Planned Parenthood for basic health care as do many other women. This is not about abortion folks, this is about pap smears and gyn screenings.
