Malala Yousafzai To Be Subject of New Documentary

nullThe extremely brave 16 year old Malala Yousafzai will be the subject of a new documentary by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth.)

Last October, Yousafzai was shot in the head by Taliban members after she was advocating for girls’ education and sharing those views with media outlets. She miraculously survived and has continued to unwaveringly speak out for the importance of educating girls. She has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Guggenheim has been working with producers Laurie MacDonald and Walter F. Parkes on developing the documentary. They’ve received substantial financing from Image Nation of Abu Dhabi. The documentary is about 18 months away from being complete.

Last Friday, on her 16th birthday, she had her own day at the UN where she was surrounding by youth from all over the world. She made a speech to the  General Assembly about the importance of education. Her speech below is her first formal public remarks since her shooting.

Be inspired.
