August: Osage County premiered at TIFF garnering a ton of Oscar buzz. The film, based on Tracy Lett’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, follows the Weston daughters (Julia Roberts, Juliette Lewis and Julianne Nicholson) who return home because of a family crisis.

The three return home to their mother, Violet (Meryl Streep), a pill-popping, nightmare matriarch and family chaos ensues. Streep, Roberts and Margo Martindale have been praised for their performances coming out of TIFF, so this is certainly a film to watch come awards season.

August: Osage County hits theaters on December 25th.
