Little of the marketing thus far for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1, which opens in just five weeks, has focused on the franchise’s heroine, Katniss Everdeen. That’s partly because the source material, Suzanne Collins’ third book, expands its scope to the growing civil unrest within Panem.
Whatever the case, earlier spots for the third Hunger Games film (with a fourth planned for next year) have focused on side characters like the menacing President Snow (Donald Sutherland), the preternaturally placid Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), and the mysterious President Coin (Julianne Moore).
But this new clip turns the camera back where it belongs, on Katniss, as the soon-to-be rebel returns back to her hometown of District 12 to find it rather different than when she left to fight for her life in the Games.
Mockingjay — Part 1 will debut on November 21.
