Ava DuVernay has had a huge year so far–winning awards for Middle of Nowhere and being invited to join the Academy. That doesn’t even touch upon DuVernay’s increasingly prolific body of work.
This year she’s directed a short film for Miu Miu, Venus Vs. for ESPN and was recently announced to be taking on the Martin Luther King Jr. biopic, Selma, and an episode of Scandal.
DuVernay has just done another short, for Fashion Fair inspired by their lipstick, Say Yes. Starring Kali Hawk and Lance Gross, the short is everything we love about DuVernay’s work–aesthetically gorgeous, thought provoking and with a killer soundtrack.
