Melissa, thanks so much for inviting my husband, Will Holt , and myself to “Last Chance Harvey”.  We both thought the film was wonderful–amazing actors and enchanting theme… Thoughout, we were really engaged in the film and cannot wait to recommend it to everyone Again, thank you for including us. Our best Dion (Alden) Holt and Will Holt

I am going to call people instead of emailing them.  It is more labor intensive, but more personal and more tailored to each caller’s interests. Jane Lattes

Thanks for the attached. I’ve already phoned several friends to let them know how much I enjoyed the film Rochelle riba

AS I said I loved the film. Was sp moved by it. And I loved the Emma Thompson statement.  Am telling everybody about it. Thank you so much. Betsy Osha

Oh, this is so sweet.  I’ll hang onto it, maybe use it as a basis for one of my Spout columns in the near future…thanks! Lauren Wissot

This is priceless!  I thought maybe I’d take a cut or two, but no–I’m posting the whole thing.  The LCH post will go up on both ByJane and MidLifeBloggers tomorrow.  Those who knew I was reviewing it (I twittered the fact) are salivating to see the film. Jane Gassner

Dear friends – Below is Emma Thompson statement on being in “Last Chance Harvey: my experience of watching it so closely echoes what she conveys. The film opens tomorrow night around the country: go see it ASAP as opening weekends make or break a film.  It’s wonderful and you’ll have a great time: also it’s vital for us to support films featuring mature female actors in mature stories so we continue to see more of them made.   Warm wishes, – Nadine Hack

  • I just got back from seeing this, and I must say that I will be seeing it again. (I mean, it does help that I have a membership to the indie film house in my town and can go for free.)
  • LibraryPrincess, I do think you’re right about the age thing. However, it’s done well in this movie, and there are certainly looks of skepticism (wonderfully done looks of skepticism) from Kate when she realizes that Harvey is kindasortamaybe picking her up. And, the age difference is addressed. I have so many things to say about this film, but shan’t for fear of ruining it for those who haven’t seen it! Go forth and view! Andrea
  • Love Emma Thompson and I’m going to see this movie. thnx for sharing this Melissa
  • We build our defenses and forget to dismantle them when the danger has past? Brilliantly put, Emma Thompson! I’m printing this out and posting it in my medicine cabinet so I can read it every day.
  • I actually thought Last Chance Harvey was already in wide release for several weeks, so when I went to check for showtimes last week and found it only playing in New York and California, I was so disappointed, and annoyed with myself for missing another good one. What a relief it was to find out it was opening here today! I am planning my weekend around it!

  • i keep that top picture of emma thompson in the photo folder on my computer where the screen saver comes from. (do not know technical terms, am a luddite or something.) ANYWAY. it is there so that when she pops up on the screen, i can say to my daughter: “that is my friend emma. you want to be like her when you grow up.”
