Women Win Big Prizes at Tribeca Film Festival

Lisa Aschan’s Swedish film She Monkeys (which I missed and desperately want to see) won the best narrative at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival. The film was written by Josefine Adolfsson and Lisa Aschan.

Alma Har’el won the best documentary honors for her film Bombay Beach. Jannicke Systad Jabobsen won best screenplay for the delightful Turn me on goddamit. Carice Van Houten won the best actress honors for her bold portrayal of Ingrid Jonker in Black Butterflies.

Check out my interviews with Carice and Jannicke.

Here are all the winners.
