“Bitterbrush” is heading to theaters and on demand following an acclaimed festival run that included screenings at Telluride, Visions du Réel, and San Francisco International Film Festival. Emelie Mahdavian’s documentary follows Hollyn Patterson and Colie Moline, range riders herding cattle in remote Idaho. In our exclusive clip of the film, the duo crack jokes about ripping their pants and making small horses look good. “I’m just trying to keep up with the Kardashians,” Colie says. “You know, style’s everything.”
Described as “a portrait of friendship, life transitions, and the work of two skilled young women in the isolated and beautiful landscape of the American West,” “Bitterbrush” hits theaters June 17 and on demand June 24.
Emelie Mahdavian’s other credits include 2016’s “After the Curtain” and “Intangible Body.” The former is a doc feature and the latter is a doc short.
