Helen Mirren has teamed up with Budweiser for its newly launched #GiveADamn campaign.
The Dame is advertising beer in a Super Bowl Commercial while simultaneously laying the verbal smackdown on beer drinkers — but only those who overindulge in the frothy alcoholic beverage and decide it’s a good idea to operate machinery that weighs thousands of pounds.
The “Trumbo” star is unequivocally against drinking and driving, and has choice words for those who show a disregard for the safety of other drivers, passengers, pedestrians and anyone else affected by their horribly selfish decision to get behind the wheel in an impaired state.
The PSA sees Mirren introducing herself as “a notoriously frank and uncensored British lady,” and the insult-laden tangent that follows illustrates that the reputation is earned. Mirren identifies drunk drivers as a “human form of pollution” — and she doesn’t stop there.
No one wants to be described this way, and especially not by a supremely disapproving Helen Mirren. So show that you #GiveADamn and don’t drink and drive.
Budweiser has vowed to donate $1 to safe ride programs for every use of the #GiveADamn hashtag.
