The Oscars have demonstrated a stinginess toward Julianne Moore over the years, but other institutions have been lining up to shower the actress with trophies and accolades.
After winning the Best Actress award at this year’s Cannes for her performance as a desperate, middle-aged thespian in Maps to the Stars, Moore will now be honored by the Museum of the Moving Images.
The museum’s co-chairman Herbert S. Schlosser commented, “With her unforgettable performances in Still Alice and Maps to the Stars and her upcoming role in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, this is Julianne Moore’s year. She is one of the most accomplished and talented actors working today, and we are thrilled to be honoring her at our annual Salute. She is a fearless and versatile performer who has created so many powerful performances in film and television.”
