Allison Williams is adding another horror movie to her resume. The “Get Out” and “The Perfection” star is set to re-team with the production company behind the former, Blumhouse, for “M3GAN.” Deadline broke the news.
Penned by Akela Cooper, the horror tech thriller sees Williams playing Gemma, “a brilliant roboticist at a toy company. She uses artificial intelligence to develop M3GAN, a life-like doll programmed to be a kid’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. After unexpectedly gaining custody of her orphaned niece, Gemma enlists the help of the M3GAN prototype – a decision that has unimaginable consequences,” the source teases.
Williams broke out with “Girls,” Lena Dunham’s HBO series about four 20-something friends living in New York City. The comedy ran for six seasons.
Cooper recently served as supervising producer and a writer on Netflix’s “Luke Cage.” “Chambers,” “The 100” and “Witches of East End” are among her other credits. Her upcoming feature slate includes horror thriller “Malignant” and “The Nun 2,” a sequel to 2018 box office horror hit.
