Great news: two female filmmakers have announced new projects.
Buoyed by positive reviews of her upcoming film Belle, British director Amma Asante has signed on to direct the studio thriller Unforgettable. Variety reports that screenwriter Christina Hodson will be penning the film, which “centers on a man whose new wife is menaced by his ex-wife.” (Note: Belle will be the opening film of the Athena Film Festival.)
Meanwhile, Rebecca Miller has revealed that her fifth film, Maggie’s Plan, a “romantic comedy of manners,” will star Greta Gerwig. Miller will adapt a story by Karen Rinaldi.
