Two small screen favorites have teamed up for Liz Manashil’s next feature. “The Handmaid’s Tale’s” Ann Dowd and “Fargo” alumna Allison Tolman are starring in “Speed of Life,” Deadline confirms. Named in honor of the David Bowie song, the pic sees a woman reflecting on her life after Bowie’s death causes a wormhole to open.
Manashil made her feature debut with 2014’s “Bread and Butter,” a comedy about a 30-year-old virgin who is struggling to find her footing on the dating scene. She’s also directed a number of shorts including “Stealing Zen,” “Round and Round,” and “Formé.”
Dowd won an Emmy for her role as Aunt Lydia in “The Handmaid’s Tale” and a nod for her work in “The Leftovers.” She is set to star in “Lambs of God,” a Gothic drama series about nuns.
Tolman received an Emmy nomination for her performance in “Fargo.” Since she wrapped on the anthology series, she’s appeared in series such as “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Good Girls,” and “Downward Dog.”
“Speed of Life” is currently in post-production, according to IMDb. Jeff Perry (“Scandal”) co-stars.
