Anne Hathaway to Star in “Live Fast Die Hot”

Anne Hathaway in “The Intern”

Anne Hathaway has signed on to star in “Live Fast Die Hot,” a film adaptation of actress Jenny Mollen’s best-selling book released this June, The Tracking Board reports. Warner Bros. snagged the rights to the book, whose title sounds like an “SNL” parody of Hathaway’s Oscar-winning performance as Fantine in “Les Misérables.”

“Live Fast Die Hot” is a collection of essays that chronicles Mollen on a journey of self-discovery in the wake of becoming a mother. The Tracking Board writes that the book centers on “Mollen’s transformation and her shift in priorities as she evolves from her social media-centric and impulsive personality,” and “follows [her] to Morocco, where she embarks on a quest to prove to herself that she can travel alone without reenacting a plotline from ‘Taken.’” Mollen’s acting credits include “Chicago Fire,” “Girls,” and “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”

Hathaway will produce, as will Gail Berman (“The Cape,” “Buffy”), with Mollen taking on the role of executive producer. Chantal Nong will oversee the project for Warner Bros.

“Live Fast Die Hot” adds another interesting chapter to Hathaway’s eclectic career. The global goodwill ambassador for UN Women was recently seen in Disney’s blockbuster “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” and her upcoming roles include a film adaptation of “Grounded,” a one-woman show where Hathaway played an American Air Force pilot forced to take responsibility of an unmanned drone, “The Shower,” an alien invasion comedy that takes place during a baby shower, and the hotly anticipated all-female reboot of the “Ocean’s” franchise, “Ocean’s Eight.”
