Theater chain ArcLight Cinemas is set to present the second annual Women in Entertainment Summit, Yahoo! News reports. The event will take place November 10 at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood.
The Summit will be hosted by Gretchen McCourt, Arclight’s executive VP. The event will bring together leaders in the worlds of film, television, fashion, marketing, and music to spark dialogue about some of the most pressing issues affecting women in entertainment.
The event has an impressive roster. Scheduled participants include Geena Davis (founder of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media); I. Marlene King (executive producer of “Pretty Little Liars”); Bruna Papandrea (producer and co-founder of Pacific Standard); Bonnie Arnold (co-president of feature animation for DreamWorks Animation); Dalia Ganz (director, digital and partnership marketing for Freeform); Meredith Walker (co-founder and executive director of Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls); Julie Ann Crommett (entertainment industry educator in chief for Google); Diane Paulus (director of “Waitress the Musical”); Leah Butler (casting director, Casting Society of America); Mary Lou Belli (co-chair of the DGA Women’s Steering Committee); and Rob Thomas (creator of “Veronica Mars”).
“We’re excited to bring new thought leaders to the table to continue the empowering conversations that were started at the inaugural event last year. As the entertainment industry evolves, we’re proud to champion women and continue to be a forum for these discussions,” said McCourt.
