ARRAY has lined up its latest film release. Ava DuVernay’s independent distribution company will be screening “Roll With Me,” Lisa France’s doc about recovering addict and paraplegic Gabriel Cordell, in select theaters throughout the coming weeks. The film will also stream on Netflix beginning December 1.
The winner of Virginia Film Festival’s Audience Award and Woodstock Film Fest’s Carpe Diem Andretta Award, “Roll With Me” follows Cordell as he becomes the first person to journey across America in an unmodified wheelchair. As he travels from Santa Monica, California to his hometown of West Hempstead, New York, Cordell meets and bonds with others with their own struggles — including homelessness, PTSD, addiction and sobriety, and family issues.
The documentary will play tonight, November 28, at New York’s Museum of the Moving Image and Imagenation Cinema. Here are the other upcoming screenings, courtesy of ARRAY:

Features “Anne B. Real” and “Love & Suicide” and TV movie “Her Boyfriend’s Secret” are among France’s previous directorial efforts.
Launched by “Selma” director DuVernay in 2010, ARRAY was originally known as AFFRM. The LA-based film collective is focused on highlighting works by and about people of color and women. Their previous releases include Heidi Saman’s “Namour,” Rebecca Johnson’s “Honeytrap,” Amanda Marsalis’ “Echo Park,” and DuVernay’s own “Middle of Nowhere.”
