Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of “Tiny Pretty Things,” based on the book by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton, Deadline reports. The drama series’ cast has been confirmed and production has already kicked off in Toronto.
“Tiny Pretty Things” — set in Chicago’s only elite ballet academy, the diverse Archer School of Ballet — “charts the rise and fall of young adults who live far from their homes, each standing on the verge of greatness or ruin.”
Starring in the drama is “Designated Survivor” actress Lauren Holly as Monique, a former dancer who now serves as director of the Archer School.
The ensemble cast also includes Kylie Jefferson (“Davido’s Fall”), Casimere Jollette (“Code Black”), Jess Salgueiro (“Orphan Black”), Daniela Norman (“Cats”), and Broadway actress Tory Trowbridge (“An American in Paris”) as Archer’s dedicated and ambitious dancers.
“Tiny Pretty Things” is expected to bow in 2020.
