When Amy Purdy was 19 years old, she contracted a form of bacterial meningitis that led to both of her legs being amputated below the knee. Purdy, who is now 35, has since made her mark in sports, fashion, reality television, the literary world and motivational speaking. It’s hardly surprising, then, that her remarkable life is getting the biopic treatment in “I Believe In Love.”
Perhaps best known as a runner-up on the 18th season of “Dancing With The Stars” in 2014 and a bronze medalist in snowboarding in the Winter Paralympics that same year, Purdy is set to be the subject of the first film from Rockpile Studios.
“Amy’s story is an inspirational, coming-of-age tale that celebrates the remarkable strength of the human spirit,” said Scott Waugh, one of the co-founders of Rockpile Studios. Simon Swart, another co-founder, added, “’I Believe In Love’ is the ideal debut project for us.
