According to box office mojo that 20% decline was less than recent comedies like The 40 Year Old Virgin and The Hangover. Bridesmaids grossed $20 million dollars on weekend two and the powers that be didn’t predict that it would make even $20 million on weekend one. That means that not only is it a hit, it is a hit compared to the male comedies. The box office stands now at almost $60 million.
