Oscar-winning producer Cathy Schulman (“Crash”) has joined the newly launched STX Entertainment after eight years as the president of Mandalay Pictures.
Schulman will serve as a top production exec at STX, which was founded last year by producer Robert Simonds. Counting among her credits “Bernie,” “The Illusionist,” “The Kids Are All Right,” “Soul Surfer” and the upcoming Charlize Theron thriller “Dark Places,” Schulman will be “putting together projects and bringing filmmakers and talent on board” at the new studio, according to Variety.
In addition to her production work, Schulman is the president of Women in Film, as well as a board member of Film Independent.
