Corinne Brinkerhoff, formerly a writer/supervising producer on “The Good Wife” and writer/co-EP on “Jane the Virgin,” is getting her own show. CBS made a straight-to-series order for Brinkerhoff’s new original series “American Gothic,” which she will write and executive produce.
The murder-mystery series is “set among the world of Boston elites,” according to the Hollywood Reporter, and will focus on a family who suspect that their recently deceased patriarch may have been a serial killer — and that someone in the family may have served as his accomplice. Every family has its secrets, but it looks like this one can’t keep theirs buried.
“With ‘American Gothic,’ Corinne Brinkerhoff has created the perfect CBS summer mystery, filled with suspense, intrigue and an explosive ending that will leave you breathless,” said CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller. “It feels like a compelling summer novel that we can deliver to our viewers in 13 one-hour chapters.”
Expect to find “American Gothic” on CBS in summer 2016, alongside “The Good Wife” creators Robert and Michelle King’s satirical horror comedy “BrainDead.”
