“Jane By Charlotte” has secured U.S. distribution ahead of its North American premiere at this month’s New York Film Festival. A portrait of singer, actress, and fashion icon Jane Birkin by her daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg, the doc first screened at Cannes. Utopia landed rights to the film and is planning a theatrical release for 2022, per Deadline.
Gainsbourg’s acting credits include “Antichrist,” “Nymphomaniac: Vol. I” and “Vol. II,” and “Melancholia.” “Jane By Charlotte” marks her directorial debut, and unravels her complicated relationship with her mother.
