Chelsea Peretti is teaming up with another woman director. The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actress just wrapped shooting on Nicol Paone’s “Friendsgiving,” and now she’s set to star in Andrea Dorfman’s “Spinster.” Deadline reports that the pic is currently filming in Nova Scotia.
Penned by Jennifer Deyell, “Spinster” sees Peretti playing a woman who’s dumped on her 39th birthday and forced to confront her fear “of becoming a pathetic, lonely spinster.”
Deyell co-wrote “Love That Boy,” Dorfman’s 2003 feature about a woman who falls for a much younger guy.
“Spinster” hails from Sea Green Pictures.
Peretti was last seen on the big screen in “Game Night.” “Friendsgiving” is slated for release November 29, 2019, according to IMDb. The comedy centers on an unconventional Thanksgiving dinner hosted by a glamorous, newly divorced actor and her recently-dumped lesbian best friend. Malin Akerman, Kat Dennings, and Jane Seymour co-star.
Peretti’s stand-up special, “One of the Greats,” is now streaming on Netflix. She plays Gina on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” The police sitcom’s fifth season concluded in May and was cancelled shortly thereafter by Fox. The fan favorite has been picked up by NBC and will return for a sixth season.
Dorfman’s other credits include “Heartbeat” and “Parsley Days.”
