Now that we know that Natalie Portman won’t be reprising her role as Jane Foster in the third Thor film, set for July 2017, there’s another female lead taking her place in Asgard. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Creed" star Tessa Thompson has signed on for "Thor: Ragnarok."
The actress made waves during Sundance 2014 with a starring role in festival favorite and winner "Dear White People.," for which she won a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Actor. Later that year she had a supporting role in "Selma." Last year, she co-starred with Michael B. Jordan in "Rocky" sequel "Creed."
