Daisy Ridley continues to ride the wave of her “Star Wars” success.
According to Variety, the “Force Awakens” breakout is attached to star in “The Lost Wife,” a drama based on Alyson Richman’s 2011 novel of the same name.
The film is set in pre-war Prague. Ridley, who is in the midst of filming the next installment of “Star Wars,” will play Lenka, an art student who falls deeply in love with her friend’s older brother. Their romance — and lives — are jeopardized by the imminent Nazi invasion.
“The Lost Wife” doesn’t have a director attached yet, nor a studio. CAA is handling rights for the project and will take it to Cannes next month, where it will no doubt attract a lot of attention given Ridley’s rising profile. The British actress just signed on to “Kolma,” a fantasy thriller helmed by “The Diary of a Teenage Girl” writer-director Marielle Heller.
