Drew Barrymore is producing Animal –a horror film for the Chiller network about a group of friends who are stranded in the woods being pursued by a killer. The film, starring Keke Palmer, is set to receive a limited theatrical release before airing on the network.

Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl created one of the most divisive and fascinating female characters in recent history with Amy Dunne. With a director (David Fincher) and the role of Nick (Ben Affleck) secured, the plum role of Amy has gone to Rosamund Pike who was last seen in Jack Reacher. Flynn adapted the screenplay and Reese Witherspoon will be producing.

The pairing of Melissa McCarthy and Paul Feig has been comedy gold. And it looks like it’s going to happen again. McCarthy is in early talks to star in Feig’s Susan Cooper–that follows a female James Bond character which Feig also wrote.

Nicole Holofcener’s latest film, Enough Said, will be released on September 20th just after its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. The film stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Eve, a divorcee who is wondering about her next move. After meeting a woman (Catherine Keener) who is the embodiment of everything she’d like to be, Eve begins to live freer. She takes a chance on a new relationship (with the late, great James Gandolfini) only to find out he is the ex-husband of her new friend.
