Fortune Feimster is taking center stage. Best known for her supporting roles on the small screen in “The Mindy Project,” “Life in Pieces,” and “Champions” and on the big screen in “Office Christmas Party,” the actress and comedian has scored her first hourlong special with Netflix. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news.
Set to debut January 21 on the streamer, the special, titled “Sweet & Salty,” will see “Feimster recall her childhood misadventures as a former Girl Scout, debutante and (disqualified) swim meet champion; her family’s complicated relationship with Hooters; and how a movie helped her realize she was a lesbian,” the source hints.
“This special was a labor of love for me,” said Feimster. “It’s the first time I’ve done such a personal set like this where I take people on a journey from my childhood to present day and what it was like trying to figure out who I was along the way. I think there’s a lot of things in it people can relate to, but most importantly, I just hope it makes people laugh.”
The multi-hyphenate is also in production on another Netflix special, Jennifer Garner-starrer “Yes Day.” Based on Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s best-selling children’s book of the same name, the pic’s premise is that one day a year, parents agree to say “yes” to everything their kids request, be it eating a sundae for breakfast, skipping music lessons, or sleeping in a tent.
