“Full Frontal with Samatha Bee’s” Kristen Bartlett explores what happens when folks age out of Make-a-Wish and other charities dedicated to making sick kids’ dreams come true with her latest project. ABC has put “Big Wishes” into development. According to Deadline, Bartlett is writing the project alongside James Griffiths (“Black-ish”).

“Big Wishes” asks “who’s there to fulfill the dreams of dying adults” and tells the story of Karla and her best friend Hyacinth, who “set out to right this wrong and give the 18 and older set a reason to live another day,” the source details.

Bartlett and “2 Dope Queens” co-creator Phoebe Robinson are among the series’ exec producers.

“I couldn’t be happier to partner with Kristen,” said Robinson. “I fell in love with this project after reading the first page of the script. In these times when so much seems uncertain, having a show like this where heart meets hope is something we all need. And then when you factor in the big, bold comedic moments, ‘Big Wishes’ is unstoppable.”

A five-time Emmy nominee, Bartlett serves as co-head writer on “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee,” which is in its fifth season on TBS. The “SNL” alumna earned WGA and Peabody Awards for her work on the NBC variety show.
