Inside Out Toronto 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival has announced its 2021 lineup, and 70 percent of this year’s selected films are by women, trans, and non-binary directors. Set to take place May 27 – June 6, the 31st edition of the fest will kick off with the Canadian premiere of Natalie Morales’ “Language Lessons,” a platonic love story that took home SXSW’s Narrative Spotlight Audience Award.
Other titles set to screen include Marion Hill’s “Ma Belle, My Beauty” and Bobbi Jo Hart’s “Fanny: The Right to Rock.” The former is a romance set in the South of France that portrays a queer polyamorous relationship, and the latter is a documentary paying tribute to a groundbreaking Filipina-American queer all-female rock band.
Inside Out will be held digitally this year due to COVID-19.
