Seven-time BAFTA winner and two-time Oscar nominee Julie Walters can add another trophy to her crowded mantle: the 2014 Academy Fellowship, the British Academy Television Awards’ highest honor.
“Julie Walters is one the most talented individuals to grace our screens,” said BAFTA executive Amanda Berry in a statement. “She has the innate ability to draw the viewer in across any genre, captivating and entertaining with every performance.”
In addition to her film and theater work in Educating Rita and All My Sons, she is best known for her small-screen roles on Victoria Wood As Seen On TV and Dinnerladies.
Walters will receive the Fellowship at the British Academy Television Awards ceremony on May 18.
