Over the weekend at the Television Critics Association’s Summer TV 2013 Press Tour, Kathy Bates spoke out about the Harry’s Law cancellation and her experience with NBC.
When asked if NBC’s handling of Harry’s Law made Bates reluctant to get back into the business of weekly television, Bates first hesitated with her answer–saying “You bet!” and that she didn’t want to give NBC “any air time.”
But then she changed her mind and spoke her mind and gave it to NBC.
I think they treated us like shit. They kicked us to the curb. They disrespected us. They disrespected our 11 million viewers every week. And I think
they’re getting what they deserve.
NBC cancelled Harry’s Law in Spring 2012 despite it being the network’s highest watched drama series. Bates will next be seen in American Horror Story: Coven on FX, which according to the TCA panel is set to have a feminist theme throughout with a focus on the relationships between mothers and daughters.
Karma is a bitch.
