The woman with the most Oscars is not the highest paid woman in Hollywood. According to Forbes, that honor goes to Kristen Stewart who this year will have two monster hits with the current Snow White and the Huntsman which is now at almost $250 million total and the upcoming Breaking Dawn Part 2. This 21-year-old made $34.5 million. But all the women on the list still earn less than their male counterparts men by over $160 million dollars. The top men earned #61 million compared to women earning $200 million. And I’m guessing the dudes make most of their money from salaries on the films, and women complement their film salaries with endorsements which at times brings in more than the salary for a film.
The rest of the rich list of female actresses:
- Cameron Diaz — $34 million — made a ton of money off the back end of Bad Teacher which ended up bringing in $216 million.
- Sandra Bullock — $25 million — still making money off the back end of The Blind Side and will be in the big budget film Gravity this holiday season.
- Angelina Jolie — $20 million — doesn’t matter that the woman didn’t star in a big Hollywood film. She brings in the bucks from her multitide of endorsements. I’d look for her to climb back to the top next year as she just began production on Maleficent.
- Charlize Theron — $18 million — she’s in two big summer films; Snow White and the Huntsman and Prometheus.
- Julia Roberts — $16 million — Julia still makes a good deal of money per film. Her quote could be in jeopardy if the next ones don’t perform better. She had two disappointments at the box office — Larry Crowne and Mirror Mirror.
- Sarah Jessica Parker — $15 million — Sex and the City is the gift that keeps on giving.
- Meryl Streep — $12 million — in my book she should be making $100 million.
- Kristen Wiig — $12 million — one word — BRIDESMAIDS
- Jennifer Aniston — $11 million — she’s like a guy. She makes crappy movies and still gets a good paycheck.
