If you’re still mourning the end of Don’t Trust the B — — , here’s some good news: Krysten Ritter is returning to television.
According to Deadline, Ritter has been cast as Jessica Jones, a retired superheroine-turned-private eye. The Marvel character will be reinterpreted for the small screen by executive producer Melissa Rosenberg (Dexter, Twilight) for Netflix.
Formerly a high-school classmate of Peter Parker, Jessica Jones gained superpowers in an accident that killed the rest of her family. Her stint as a superheroine landed her in a year-long coma, though, so she left the flying and punching business to become a for-hire detective in supernatural cases. Hopefully we’ll get to see a Marvel crossover with the big screen-bound Carol Danvers, AKA Ms. Marvel, Jessica’s best friend in the comics.
Ritter will next be seen in Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, which stars Amy Adams as a painter whose husband takes credit for her work.
