‘Louie’ Actress Pamela Adlon to Headline FX’s First Female-Led Comedy Series

After co-starring in nearly every season of FX’s “Louie,” Pamela Adlon has landed her own series.

“Better Things” will star Adlon as “a working actor with no filter trying to earn a living,
navigate her daughters’ lives, have fun with a friend or two and also —
just maybe — squeeze in some private time once in a while,” according to Deadline.

Created by Adlon and C.K., the show will be FX’s first comedy with a solo female lead. The network has already ordered it to series.

“Pamela is one of the sharpest and most endearing actresses working in
television today, and we are thrilled she has joined forces with Louis
to create a series that is raw, personal and incredibly funny,” said
a FX spokesperson.

Adlon and C.K. have written the “Better Things” pilot. Adlon received an Emmy nod for her performance on the most recent season of “Louie” and previously won a voiceover Emmy for her work on “King of the Hill.”

C.K. will also executive produce an Amazon sitcom starring Tig Notaro with Diablo Cody.
