I am thrilled to introduce you to the new Women and Hollywood columnists who will be taking up their posts beginning next week:
Sara Stewart will be handling the weekly TV beat. She also works at the New York Post where she is a film critic and features writer. She is also an occasional contributor to Cosmopolitan magazine and has in the past written for Time Out New York, The Week, New York, Chicago Social, The Improper Bostonian and the (sadly, now defunct) Boston Phoenix.
Prachi Gupta will take up the new position of the diversity columnist. She is currently an assistant editor at Salon, where she covers pop culture news. She focuses on comedy, gender, and diversity issues, and has written for Gawker, Hello Giggles and College Humor.
Marcie Bianco joins in the new position as our queer columnist. She is a columnist and contributing writer at AfterEllen, Lambda Literary, and PolicyMic, as well as an adjunct associate professor at John Jay College at Hunter College. She has also contributed to Curve Magazine, Feministing, The Feminist Wire, Huffington Post, and The L Stop and she is currently at work on a memoir about lesbian academic affairs.
I look forward to their columns serving a much needed part of the Women and Hollywood conversation.
Please help me welcome them.
