Michelle Nader and Morgan Murphy’s Sisters Comedy “Danny Issues” Goes to Fox as Put Pilot

Michelle Nader and Morgan Murphy, formerly writer-producers on “2 Broke Girls,” are working on another project about two flawed women with a tight bond. Deadline reports Fox has given a put pilot commitment to the duo’s “Danny Issues,” a multi-cam comedy centering on sisters reconciling with their estranged father.

“Danny Issues” sees the sisters reunite with their “ne’er-do-well father after the loss of their mother, leading all three to realize that sometimes what they thought was the problem is actually the solution.” Inspired by their own relationships with their dads, Nader and Murphy wrote the project and will serve as exec producers. Danielle Stokdyk (“iZombie”) will also EP.

Nader co-wrote and exec produced CBS’ multi-cam comedy pilot “I Mom So Hard,” based on Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley’s popular web series of the same name. She worked on “2 Broke Girls” for its entire six-season run, and directed an ep in 2017. “Kath & Kim,” “The King of Queens,” and “Spin City” are among her other writing-producing credits.

Murphy most recently wrote for and produced the “Roseanne” revival and the short-lived but beloved comedy “Downward Dog.” Also a comedian, she wrote and exec produced her 2014 special “Irish Goodbye.” She received an Emmy nod for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Series for her work on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”
