Miranda Sings will return to Netflix. Colleen Ballinger’s character, the millennials’ answer to Florence Foster Jenkins, is getting her own Netflix special, Variety reports. The special will be shot September 15 at the Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theater in Washington, D.C., the penultimate stop on the “Miranda Sings Live… No Offense” tour.
Ballinger introduced Miranda Sings on YouTube in 2008. Miranda is an enthusiastic singer and performer whose ambitions greatly outweigh her talents — not that she’d listen to anyone who told her so. The Miranda Sings YouTube channel has over 1.7 billion views.
In 2016 Miranda made her way to Netflix for the show “Haters Back Off!” Ballinger co-created the series with her brother, Christopher Ballinger. It ran for two seasons.
Miranda Sings made her first comedy special, “Selp Helf,” in 2015. The character has also appeared in “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” “The Tonight Show,” “Victorious,” and other web and TV series.
Ballinger wrote several episodes of “Haters Back Off!” She’s acted in non-Miranda Sings projects including YouTube Red’s “Escape the Night” and short “Beauty and the Beat Boots.”
