“Random Acts of Flyness” writer-director Naima Ramos-Chapman will helm Lena Waithe and Cathy Kisakye’s Showtime pilot “How To Make Love To A Black Woman (Who May Be Working Through Some Sh*t).” Production is set to kick off in August, according to Deadline.
Exec produced by Waithe and created and written by Kisakye, “How To Make Love To A Black Woman” is a half-hour comedy anthology. Each multi-part installment “unfolds a new collection of characters in an authentic world, telling stories about connection and rejection that explore our most harrowing – and harrowingly comic – sexual secrets.”
“How To Make Love To A Black Woman” was developed under Waithe’s first-look deal with Showtime.
Ramos-Chapman has written, directed, and produced shorts “Piu Piu” and “And Nothing Happened.” She helmed the music video for Earl Sweatshirt’s “Nowhere, Nobody.” Also an actress, she’s appeared in “And Nothing Happened,” “Random Acts of Flyness,” and miniseries “No Strings, Please.” Next, Ramos-Chapman is acting in and serving as writer-director for HBO’s upcoming skateboarding comedy “Skate Kitchen” from Crystal Moselle and Lesley Arfin. The show is inspired by Moselle’s feature of the same name.
