Last week The European Film Awards announced their nominees for their annual awards. Michael Haneke’s Amour and Steve McQueen’s Shame picked up a majority of the nominations.
But how did women fare? In this year’s batch of nominees, there were NO women directors nominated, and hardly any women were nominated in the majority of the major categories (excepting the acting category).
Wondering what films directed by women people think should have been included.
Here’s the brief list of women nominated including the actress category:
European Actress:
Emilie Dequenne — Our Children
Emmanuelle Riva — Amour
Kate Winslet — Carnage
Nina Hoss — Barbara
Margarethe Tiesel — Paradise: Love
European Screen Writer:
