NYWIFT has announced the full lineup for next week’s NYWIFT Summit: The Creative Industry Radically Reimagined. Set to take place June 22-25, the third annual virtual conference will welcome industry leaders such as WarnerMedia EVP Christy Haubegger, Time’s Up President and CEO Tina Tchen, and AMC Networks Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer Aisha Thomas-Petit.
Dedicated to establishing “forward-moving strategies to create change and mobilize support and leadership for the future,” the 2021 summit will “spotlight the best practices of indies and media companies that are actively restructuring their objectives, staffing, and community responses to produce creative projects,” a press release details. The event will also explore “how the industry has survived the COVID-19 pandemic, showcasing those who are thriving and what lessons were learned during the Black Lives Matter Movement, wave of violence against the AAPI community, financial downturn, and the health crisis.”
The virtual conference will include keynotes, fireside chats, and panels, followed by daily networking opportunities addressing topics such as diversity and inclusion initiatives and the future of the workplace.
“We at NYWIFT are thrilled to recognize the executives, creatives, and advocates who have been doing the work for years to build a safer, more equitable, and more inclusive media industry. This last year has brought incredible challenges, and with it, opportunities for growth and re-birth. We look forward to seizing this moment as a turning point toward a brighter future, and are thankful to all of our partners who want to join us for these vital conversations,” said NYWIFT Executive Director Cynthia Lopez.
You can find more information about summit and register on NYWIFT’s website. The virtual program is free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $15 for NYWIFT members and $20 for non-members to support NYWIFT.
